How to Compare the Nikon D40 to the Canon 40D Digital Cameras

Canon eos digital camera pics8
Digital Canon EOS Hello Mondo!

Nikon D40 for the Canon EOS 40 D comparison is not easy, given that one cost much more than another. But there are still a few things to keep in mind. One is the quality of the image and noise. Important as you create the functionality that is necessary and can get high quality possible, images without? The Canon EOS 40 D has advanced, an incredible processor and image technology some utilities, Nikon 40 D is no.

Instructions
Things You’ll Need:
Product manuals for Canon EOS 40D and Nikon D40 Digital Cameras

Step
1
Decide if you need a light, comfortable camera that shoots good but not professional images. If you want something less expensive but very good, choose the Nikon D40. If you want a pro camera that is just a step below those $5,000 models but still delivers excellent picture quality, go with the Canon 40D.

Step
2
Look at the pixel capacity of each camera. Canon delivers 10 megapixels and Nikon 6.1 total megapixels. This means you can shoot magazine-quality pictures with both; however, top-end magazines may require more than the 6.1 megapixels the Nikon D40 delivers. A newspaper will not, and your average magazine won’t, either. Will you outgrow the Nikon EOS 40D Digital Cameras too fast?

Step
3
Assess your shooting needs. Which shot do you normally take? Action, sports, close-ups, wildlife? Where will your pictures be published? Are you going to shoot photos for billboards or large images? The Canon EOS 40D Digital Cameras delivers better speed, less image noise, and larger images than the Nikon D40.

Step
4
Compare the fastest and slowest shutter speeds. The Canon 40D gives you 1/8000 sec to 30 sec exposures, the Nikon 1/4000 to 30 sec. The Canon is twice as fast. If you want to take high-speed photos or plan on layering for multi-exposures, the Canon is a better choice.

Step
5
Compare the accessories, flashes, lens and software offered by each. Nikon has several image-editing software packages, as well as some helpful in-camera editing abilities like red-eye removal, image overlay, monochrome and various other tones. The Canon offers these as well, along with a Live View mode that lets you use your computer to control your camera. Which ones will you use, and which ones do you really need?

Step
6
Decide whether the advanced features of the Canon, like a 6.5 fps shooting speed, are worth the extra expense. The Nikon offers 2.5 frames per second, and both offer instant image capture, or no delay on the shutter.

Step
7
Decide which glass is best for your shooting. Canon makes a very nice, very expensive lens, and so does Nikon. It may come down to cost. If you spend less on the camera body, you might be able to afford a better lens.

Great camera for a moderate budget

Review Date: December 29, 2009
Reviewer: Alberto Rivera, Mexico
I am a professional photographer dedicated to weddings, studios and seniors ([...]). I have worked on a studio with my uncle from 6 years but I had never had a camera of my own. I bought this camera because of its resolution, ISO and video features. It also has two good (not great) lenses, 2 extra batteries and the bag, a very complete Kit from Amazon. I am very happy with my purchase.
We've always been Nikon users and this is the first Canon with us. It gives great colors and image quality. The only thing that kind of took me out balance is the position of the buttons, but that is because I was used to the Nikon D200 and D100 cameras.
It is also a very light and compact camera in comparison with the D200, that became a little problem because when I grabbed the Canon t1i it felt very small between my hands and I had to practice a lot to get used to it, that affects your pulse when taking pictures with low-speed exposition time. I guess that problem will solve when I get the Battery Grip.
The video quality is greeeeat! And even more if you consider that you can use every Canon Lens to record it. I made a test with a 70-200 2.8 lens, and the results were fantastic! The only inconvenient here is that you don't have much control over the aperture and speed when taking video (or maybe I have not read that in the manual yet haha).
In general, this camera is great for an intermediate photographer, but it also works for a professional because of its features. Great photo and video for a moderate budget.

Things You’ll Need:
Sensor cleaing kit such as the Econo 1.6x Complete Kit from VisibleDust.com
-OR-
Foam-tipped swabs (on sticks, similar to a Q-tip)
Camera chamber cleaning solution
Large bulb blower
Sensor cleaning swab
A sensor brush (optional)
A sensor brush spinner (optional)
—————————————
Step
1
Remove the camera lens and wipe down the inside of the Digital Cameras chamber with a foam tipped swab dampened with EOS Digital Cameras chamber cleaning solution.

Step
2
Turn on your camera. Make sure that it’s powered by an AC adapter or a fully charged battery. It may need to be in “bulb” mode to maintain access to the sensor.

Step
3
Use a large bulb blower (without a brushed attached) to blast the initial dust and particles from the sensor. The bottom tip of the blower should not go farther into the camera chamber than the lens would.

Step
4
Place lens back onto camera and take a test shot on white paper to see if the dust has been removed. If there are still specs of dust that you want removed, proceed to the next step.

Step
5
Remove the camera’s lens once more, and brush the sensor once with a sensor cleaning swab, applying very light pressure. The swipe should cover the width of the sensor. If it doesn’t, use another swab. Each swab should only be used once to prevent the reapplication of dust.

Step
6
Swipe the sensor with a midsized sensor brush attached to a brush spinner. This step is optional.

Very nice add-on for your camera!

Review Date: November 20, 2009
Reviewer: Alexandra,
I bought this lens converter a few days ago, and was very skeptical about it. I mean, fisheye lenses are usually extremely expensive, so what could I expect of a $29 lens?
Well, after playing with it, I have to say that I am quite impressed! If you are looking for some fun and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars, go with this product!

I have a Canon Rebel XS and this add-on works perfectly with my camera since there is a converter ring for a 52-58. I use it on my 18-55 lens and I can get some very nice images. If you stick to 18 especially, you will get the full effect of the fisheye. Obviously the more you zoom, the least the distortion will appear. Also, make sure you are taking pictures with plenty of light, otherwise your pictures will be dark.

So, for the price, I am really positively surprised and it is a fun little lens to play with! also, it comes in a little protection bag, which is nice and it seems to be well built. I was expecting something that would not be as solid as this seems to be. I'm very happy of my purchase!
Great Experimental Lens

Circular Fisheye, works great. Fits right on my XTi and gets me, I'd estimate, 180 degrees of wide-angle...up close, macro style. Worth the few bucks. Bad-side: Lens cap falls off...should come with something better.
Wonderfully fun fisheye! Better than expected.

This lens is so much fun! I added to my rebel xt body and the 18-55 lens kit, and I have been having a blast taking photos. The outer 20% gets a little bit blurry. The build quality is quite sturdy. The best $30 I ever spent on photography equipment!
Great Fisheye and Low Price

Reviewer: Michael, California
Probably not the highest quality lenses for a DSLR but I wanted a fisheye to take fun photos with and this does the job great. Takes great fisheye and wide angle photos. It does use a step down ring to fit on my 58mm lense, which is annoying to screw on and off continually, but it fits perfect and I have no issues with it staying on. It works with all my filters and such.

Canon eos digital cameras pics6
Digital Canon EOS Hello Mondo!

Canon EOS digital cameras makes two types of digital camera. Only lens reflex (SLR) lenses editable camera and flashes typically called EOS cameras or digital rebel and generally called PowerShot digital compact.

Cameras SLR can be compared with the megapixel CMOS sensor size and weight and that either there is not an autopulenti system. Future comparability will understand if film SLR camera pousses.

Canon eos digital camera pics7

Compact digital cameras fall into three categories: Basic Point & Shoot, Intermediate and Advanced. Comparisons tend to be made by made by CMOS sensor, the ‘megapixels,’ and, because there is a fixed lens, by focal length of the lens.

An Internet web browser.
How to Compare Canon Digital Cameras
Step
1
Decide if you want to have full-size, interchangeable lenses and flashes which allow for full creative control — an SLR. Or, compact form which allows for some creative control — a Compact Digital? Decide if you plan to blow-up your pictures, or just view them on a computer screen. That will determine whether megapixel-count is indeed important to you, because it may not be.

Step
2
If you choose compact form, decide if you want a basic Point & Shoot camera which takes photographs automatically, has limited advanced features but is fast to set up and easy to take anywhere. An intermediate level camera, which has multiple shooting modes and functions to control many advanced features. Or, an advanced level camera where there are many shooting modes, plus the ability to add some lenses and flashes.

If you choose SLR, decide if a self-cleaning system, weight and size, future movie making or other advanced technology is important to you.

Step
3
Finally take into account the recent advances in camera technology like face recognition, anti-shake, high ISO ( film speed) and new shockproof and waterproof functionality before choosing your camera.
