3 Responses to “How To Fix A Uv Filter To My Canon Dslr Camera Eos 450d?”
Why do you want to fit one? None of my cameras have them since one shatterd and scratched the coating of my lens making it an expensive piece of scrap. That was over 40 years ago and I’ve never fitted one since.
For mechanical protection a good lens hood is better.
Adding glass can never make a lens better, it can only make it worse, you have to spend a lot of money just to make them optically neutral.
These filters (except the expensive ones) are not coated, in other words they flare when any light source is in shot, particularly the Sun.
I can think of only two scenarios where a UV filter would be useful, one is in the mountains to cut down on the strong UV (which is what they were designed for) this is only required with film, digital sensors are not very sensitive to UV. The other is in sand dunes where there is wind blown sand, even here a simple lens cap is better.
In short don’t bother, your pictures will be better for it.

The filter should simply just screw onto the front of the lens. Clockwise for on and anti-clockwise to remove it.
The filter – if its the right size – screws into the front of the lens. There should be a section in rhe Owner’s Manual that discusses using accessories like filters.
You seriously need to READ & STUDY the Owner’s Manual for your camera.
