Step
2
Choose the type of camera you wish to purchase: digital or film, SLR (single lens reflex) or compact. Think about what you normally use a camera for and the size that would work best for you. DSLRs and SLRs are versatile, if you want to choose your settings sometimes and use automatic modes other times. However, they are expensive and fairly large. Compact cameras are usually cheaper and fit better in a purse or pocket.

Consider any lenses and other accessories you may already have that might fit onto a new camera. Many Canon Rebel and Mark lenses mix and match with older models, and the camera bag must only to be large enough to fit all your accessories.

Step
4
Check the resolution and optical zoom of the camera before you purchase it. For a digital camera, look for at least 5 megapixelsmost Canon cameras are equipped with 7mp or higherif you plan to print photos to 11 by 14 or larger. Look for an optical zoom of at least 3x; Most Canon cameras have this.

Step

Consider whether you think you might want to upgrade your camera later. If you buy a DSLR or SLR camera, you can easily buy better lenses, flashes and other equipment to improve your photography. If you aren’t sure, go with a lower-priced compact 35mm SureShot, APS Elph or digital PowerShot camera.

Step
6
Know what else you might want to focus on, such as LCD size, anti-shake, semi-automatic modes, rechargeable batteries, built-in or add-on flash. Digital PowerShot and EOS cameras vary from 1.8 to 2.5 inch LCD screens. Most Canon cameras use rechargeable Lithium or Ni-Mh batteries.

Step
7
Stick to your budget. Consider extra expenses such as a camera bag, lenses, filters, batteries, digital image software, memory cards and extended warranties.

EOS Hello Canon!

Digital Cameras Canon EOS 10 D is one of the digital EOS cameras Canon EOS pictures, the D600 replacement in 2003 published model source DSLR cameras. Despite his age, remained very popular with professionals and amateurs, which long camera says on reliability. However, as any camera is not without its share of difficulties and problems, many can be fairly easily remedied.

Blank LCD after Taking Picture
The first thing anyone with a DSLR camera usually does after snapping a photo is glance at the LCD screen to see a tiny review image. However, occasionally, one may find the image absent, with the screen remaining suspiciously blank. This could be because the Auto Review setting is off, forcing anyone taking the picture to go through and look at the images manually. You can turn the setting on at the main menu.

Black Pictures
If you’re finding that the pictures you’ve been taking are too dark to be discernible, this could be because the camera’s settings are not letting enough light through. If the shutter speed is set to 1/4000 of a second and/or the aperture is set to 1/22, then there’s a good chance that the lens isn’t taking in enough light for the sensor to form a picture. Change these settings, opening the aperture to allow more light intake and eliminate these black pictures. If this does not alleviate the issue, then you may have a stuck shutter, which requires a laborious repair at your local camera shop.

Error 02 EOS Digital Cameras
If you see the message ERR 02 on your LCD’s Digital Cameras screen, then this indicates an issue with the compact flash card. It’s usually caused by removing the card without turning off the camera. To fix this, the CF card may need reformatting. This can be done on the menu, but be warned, this will erase all of the data on the card. Using a card reader, back up any images you may have on the card onto your computer before reformatting.

Error 99 EOS Digital Cameras
The ERR 99 message can be attributed to either a lens issue or a CF card problem, and we can determine which one through a series of steps. First, turn the camera off, insert a CF card, turn the camera on and format the card. Press the shutter button as if you’d take a picture. If the ERR 99 message pops up, then there may be an issue with the card and it should be replaced or reformatted. If you do not receive the error message, then the lens contacts may need cleaning. Clean the metal contacts with a cotton swab dampened with rubbing alcohol. Now replace the lens and press the shutter button. If you do not get a message, then the contacts simply needed cleaning. If you do, then that could indicate that the lens needs servicing.

Dead Card
If your camera won’t power on despite a fully charged battery, this could indicate a dead storage card. CF cards (particularly Lexar cards) only can be written so many times before they die completely, similar to how a battery can only be recharged a finite number of times. Replacing the storage card with a new one may alleviate the problem.
